Fifteen Trattoria – The Ingredients of Success

See new blog post on Laissez Fare.Summary:Our second meal at Fifteen was at the more casual Trattoria. We much enjoyed our leisurely weekend lunch and were again very impressed by the sourcing and quality of ingredients and the technical competence of the kitchen. While a few dishes didn’t whet our appetites as much as the other plates of food (some of which were stellar), we liked…See More

Crostini with Fresh Porcini Mushrooms

(http://focacciaalrosmarino.blogspot.com/)We hereby conclude this Tuscan trilogy with a real jewel: fresh Porcini mushrooms, also known in the UK as "ceps". At least once in your lifetime, you have to try this exquisite, umami-drenched delicacy. When fresh, they have a woody, rainy smell: close your eyes and you'll think you are in a…See More

Dishoom – Not Quite Va-Va-Voom

See new blog post on Laissez Fare.Summary:Dishoom purports to be London’s first authentic Bombay Café. There is certainly some potential in the food, though based on my visits, there seemed to be issues with consistency at this early stage. It is not the type of place that would ever totally blow my socks off, but it could develop into being a good middle-of-the-road Indian restaurant with a twist.…See More

Otto – Making a Meal of It

See new blog post on Laissez Fare.Summary:Like pizza? Fancy something different? Give Otto a go. Their cornmeal-infused pizza bases are light, buttery and filling – plus their alternative toppings are fresh and well conceived. While I can’t see myself developing cravings for this unique brand of pizza, it certainly makes a great snack or casual meal if you’re in the area.See More

Louis Anthony Woodbine replied to Susan Gregory's discussion 'I NEED YOUR HELP!'
Gail is right - a bloggers' event would be a start to get his profile raised. Some reviews by pro and non-pro bloggers will spread the word. Gail, you organising :-)

L'Autre Pied...Have A Sandwich Before You Go...

I saw a fantastic deal on lastminute.com for a five course meal at L'Autre Pied, a central London one michelin starred French restaurant, all for £21 per person! Ummmmm can you say BARGAIN?! I jumped at this chance and booked a table for two for lunch on a sunny saturday afternoon. …

Dragons Found At Dragon Castle...

I'm always on the hunt for new Dim Sum places and I've been curious about branching out of Chinatown for some time now. I like the restaurants in Chinatown but I've been to most of them several times now so I'm looking for a change of scenery really. The first attempt was at Yum Cha in Camden and this proved successful. The second attempt was at Dragon Castle in Elephant and Castle recommended by Lizzie of Hollowlegs. Dragon Castle was good, great location for all us Sarf Landaners and the same… Continue

Sea Shell - Lisson Grove

It's a long time since I've had fish & chips for lunch but food this good can't be missed out on. It's reputation as the number one chip shop in london precedes it and the queue out the door of thirty people, on a hot summers day too, suggests…

Dishoom Restaurant - London's got it

I love Twitter. On Thursday night post-movie, we were struggling to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat and I quickly posted as much as we wandered around. Immediately a response from @dishoomLondon popped up: "Come on over, we can squeeze you in!". I don't know if they connected work-me with Twitter-me but I've been aware of this Bombay Cafe's imminent launch for some time as I did some work with them a few months back. It's like when a good… Continue
