Pierre Koffman on the roof… of the world

For a month, London has been the scene of a unique experience: a restaurant, crafted for the instant of a dream, ephemeral in spirit and yet possessing all the elements to live on in everyone’s minds for years to come.

In less than four days, the foundations of the gastronomical production… Continue

Myself, I wasn’t displeas… Continue

Gregg Wallace

Rejoice, MasterChef is back! This time around it's a mixed bag of 'Professionals' who have to cook for Gregg and friends and thankfully the format is little changed. Despite being an irregular at my local gym, Gregg "That's a twist of a lemon and a chop of a chilli away from perfection, my friend" Wallace is now sporting an impressive paunch which on long shots can… Continue

Huevos Rancheros

Sadly Dolores has joined the chicken choir invisible and is no longer with us. She failed to return to the coup one evening and was subsequently found lying repose and bereft of life under my sister’s hedge. On the plus side she* has been replaced by not one, but three brand new (secondhand actually) chickens - Willoughby, Babs and Geraldine. All three have turned out to be enthusiastic layers and as a result there is a glut of exceptionally good free-range eggs. This weekend yumblog were the gr… Continue
